Box Score MIAMI, Fla.- The Royals, coming off their worst loss of the season, looked to bounce back to their winning ways against Johnson and Wales Wildcats down in Miami Saturday afternoon. The game was delayed for some time to start as there was a power outage on the Wildcat campus. Once the power came back on, the Royals and Wildcats got going and the Royals jumped out to a quick 8-0 lead. Warner would start hot as they would build up a 9 point lead at the 14:22 mark of the first half, but the Wildcats would come back and take a lead, 21-20 at the 10:08 point. The Wildcats would go on a small run and get an 8 point lead themselves, but the Royals played right with their opponent and came back to go into halftime only down one point, 38-37.
In the second half, the Wildcats came out red hot and would have their largest lead of the game of 12 points, 66-54, with 10:29 left. The Royals would make a small comeback before the Wildcats would build their lead back to 11, 72-61, with only 6:50 remaining. That is when the Royals would hit their stride and start their comeback. By the 3:23 mark of the second half, the Royals had already tied the score at 72, going on a 11-0 run. The Royals would then cruise into the lead after that and play some tough defense as they held the Wildcats scoreless in the final 1:15 of the game to come away with a 81-74 Sun Conference win. The Royals were led in the game by
Warren Hall with 33 points and 12 rebounds and
Denzel Osson who had 14 points. With the win, the Royals improve to 19-3 (8-3) on the season. Warner will finally be back at home on February 2 at 7 pm as they take on rival Webber International University.
