LAKE WALES, Fla. –  The Royals men's basketball team was back in action last night as the they defeated the Bobcats of St. Thomas University 88-69.  The Royals entered Saturday's matchup with a 3-2 (TSC) and 14-2 overall record. Facing a strong opponent in the Bobcats (2-2 TSC, 10-5) the Royals were able to claim their 15th win of the season behind a memorable performance from sophomore Guard, Nick Macon. Registering his first triple-double of the season with 12 points, 14 assists and a game-changing 10 steals, Macon helped propel the Royals to victory. Warren Hall(31-4-5) continued his stout senior campaign leading all scorers en route to yet another 30-plus point game.

The Royals came out shooting lights-out as they established an early 11-0 lead over the Bobcats. The offense looked to be clicking on all cylinders out-scoring the Bobcats 50-31 in the first half, however, the Bobcats battled throughout cutting the Royals lead to single digits on multiple occasions. Setting the tone in the paint St. Thomas sophomore Center, Raheem Bowman, put forth an outstanding individual performance of his own totaling 23 rebounds to go along with his 14 points. The second half showed both teams totaling an equal 38 points giving the Royals the 19 point win.

The Royals return to action Thursday, January 11th at 7 p.m. as they take on #6 Keiser University in a Sun Conference contest at the Turner Athletic Center.
