Royals Upset By Falcons In Final Seconds

LAKE WALES, Fla. – Khalil Ozuna stuns crowd with double-double, 26 pts and 19 rebounds despite the 73-76 Royals loss.

GAME RECAP

The Royals and Falcons exchanged the lead 15 different times throughout the game. The biggest lead was in favor of the Royals early on in the 1st half as they led the Falcons 23-10 just 10:00 minutes into the game. In a huge momentum shift, the Royals lead was quickly taken away as they found themselves trailing the Falcons 34-39 at halftime. Khalil Ozuna was the lone double digit scorer for the Royals in the first half as he had 10 pts and 6 rebounds.

The Royals again found themselves in trouble to start the 2nd half as they quickly found themselves down by 10. With a second half boost, the Royals chopped away the lead until a Denzell Osson jumper tied it up at 50-50. The Royals regained a 5 pt lead, but it was taken away quickly by the Falcons. The game was knotted up 73-73 with only 00:38 seconds remaining. With 14 seconds left, the Falcons Kent Hegarty knocked down a 3 pt shot to take the lead. A last ditch effort by the Royals would be unsuccessful as they fell at home to Florida College 73-76.

FINAL THOUGHTS

Khalil Ozuna finished with a double-double of 26 pts and 19 rebounds. Denzell Osson was 1 rebound shy of a double-double as he had 13 pts and 9 rebounds along with 3 steals and 5 assists. The Royals will take a few days off for the holiday before they hit the road and travel to Tennessee to take on West Virginia University Institute of Technology and Indiana University East.
