KINGSPORT, Tenn:
In their first of two games at the NAIA D-II Showcase at Meadowview Conference Resort & Convention Center, the Royals played on Saturday against West Virginia University Institute of Technology. The Royals dominated all the way through, winning the game by a score of 90-53. Â
As a team, the Royals field goal percentage was over 50%.
Khalil Ozuna was a standout, leading the team in points (17) and rebounds (11).
Nick Macon also had a great game, tallying up 10 points, 9 assists, 6 rebounds, and 4 steals.Â
The Royals ended the day with a record of 7-2 and would play again on Sunday at 1:00 P.M.Â
In their second game, Warner University played against the #9 ranked Wolves of Indiana University East. This was a great game that stayed close for the duration of the game and never lacked excitement. Unfortunately for the Royals, they ended up on the wrong side of a 74-65 final score.
Adam Giger played well offensively and led the Royals in scoring with 16 points.
Khalil Ozuna also had a solid game, adding 14 points and 9 rebounds.Â
Adam Giger was also named Champion of Character of the Showcase! Congratulations Adam!
The 7-3 Royals look to bounce back against Webber International University at home on Saturday, December 2, at 4:00.Â
