Box Score LAKE WALES, Fla.- The Royals women's basketball team took on the visiting Thomas Nighthawks in the seasons final home game of the year. The game started out rough for both teams as the game was still tied 2-2 with 3:58 remaining in the first quarter. Both teams found their stride and began hitting shots at the end of the period. The Nighthawks would finish the first quarter with a 13-11 lead over the Royals. With the Royals down 17-15 with 7:45 left in the second quarter, Warner went on a 8-2 run to go up 23-19. The Royals would hold on the a 23-22 lead at halftime. The Royals came out of halftime and dominated the third quarter. The Royals finished the third quarter on a 9-1 run to hold a 42-29 lead going into the fourth quarter. The Nighthawks had a good fourth quarter, however, the Royals did a great job at the free throw line in the final minutes to hang on to a 57-51 win on senior night. The Royals improved to 13-14 (7-8) on the season. Warner was led by
Kashari James with 14 points,
Charisa Broadway with 11 points, and
Cierra Wilson and
Kaley Schmick with 10 points. The Royals will finish up their regular season Saturday February 18 at St. Thomas. Game time is set for 7 pm.
