RECAP: Royals Rally in Overtime Thriller; Clutch Plays from Sherman and Howard Secure 60-58 SUN Conference Victory

BRADENTON, Fla. – Warner Women's Basketball delivered one of its most thrilling performances of the season Wednesday evening, defeating New College of Florida 60–58 in overtime in SUN Conference action. The Royals showed resilience down the stretch, using clutch plays in regulation and overtime to secure the road victory.

With time winding down in regulation, Aleyna Sherman knocked down a game-tying three-pointer to force overtime and shift momentum in Warner's favor. In the closing seconds of the extra period, Bethany Howard attacked the basket and finished a clutch layup to seal the 60–58 win.

Chanelle Harrison turned in a dominant performance, recording a career-high 15 points on 7-of-16 shooting while controlling the glass with 15 rebounds. Harrison also made her presence felt defensively, tallying two steals and two blocks in a complete all-around effort.

Sherman finished with 11 points, including the pivotal three-pointer, while Alexis Randall added a career-high 10 points to round out a balanced scoring attack.

Cameron Tripp orchestrated the offense with a season-high six assists, helping the Royals generate opportunities throughout the contest.

As a team, Warner shot 39.1 percent from the field (29-of-64) and battled through a tough shooting night from beyond the arc. The Royals' grit, defensive stops, and timely execution ultimately proved decisive in the overtime victory.

Warner returns home for its final game of the regular season, hosting SUN Conference opponent Webber International University on Saturday, February 21st, at 2:00 p.m. inside the Turner Athletic Center. The matchup will serve as Senior Night, the Breast Cancer Awareness game, and the 2026 season finale.
