Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 LAKE WALES, Fla.- The Royals softball team took on the Thomas Nighthawks in a huge three game conference series that would determine first place in the conference standings. On Friday, the Royals would get a dominating performance from Chelsie Valentine in a complete game, one hit, shutout win to take the first game of the series 4-0. The Royals would get a single run in the second inning on a failed pick off attempt that plated Paige Davis. Warner would then get three runs in the fifth inning on a Thomas error, Jessica Adams sacrifice fly, and Sara Bruno single. That is all the Royals would need for the 4-0 victory. 
    In game two of the series, the Royals sent Valentine back to the mound to try and win the series. Valentine was once again stellar as she pitched another complete game in the 4-3 win. The Royals got two runs in the on a Thomas error to put them up 2-0 early. Thomas then got a run in the sixth to finally score on Valentine. In the bottom half of the sixth, Sara Bruno would hit a solo homerun to put the Royals on top 3-1. Thomas would then score two in the top of the seventh to tie the game at three. In the bottom of the seventh, the Royals would get back to back doubles by Chantal Crockett and Jessica Adams to walk off on the Thomas and win 4-3. 
    In the final game of the series, the Royals looked to sweep the Nighthawks. Jessica Adams would open the scoring with a RBI single in the bottom of the first to go up 1-0 early. Thomas would get two runs in the third to go up 2-1. The game would stay that way until the bottom of the seventh when the Royals would tie the game at two on a RBI ground out by Chantal Crockett. Then in the bottom of the 8th, the Royals would get an error off a sacrifice bunt that would plate Kori Petersen for the 3-2 walk off win for the Royals.
