Box Score 2 LAKE WALES, Fla.- The Royals softball team got another quality outing by Chelsea Valentine on the mound in game one of Saturday's double header to propel them to a 4-3 victory. In the bottom of the first inning, the Royals got on the board first with a RBI double from
Jessica Adams that scored
Chantal Crockett for an early 1-0 lead. The Seahawks would get a run back in the top of the second to tie the game, but the Royals would strike right back with three runs of their own in the bottom of the second.
Torey Scott got a RBI groundout that was followed up by RBI singles from
Caylin Delones and
Jessica Adams to give the Royals a 4-1 lead. Keiser got two runs in the top of the third to put the score at 4-3, but that was all the cushion Valentine would need the rest of the way as she shut the door on the Seahawks offense and the Royals came away with a 4-3 win.
In game three of the series,
Paige Davis got the start on the mound for the Royals. Keiser would get a run in the top of the first, but the Royals would once again strike right back with a run of their own on a
Jessica Adams RBI double. With the score tied at one, the Royals would take the lead in the third inning when the Royals would score on a
Megan Hammett fielders choice that plated Adams. Warner would then add on to their lead in the sixth when Adams would once again come through with a RBI double then
Paige Davis would come through with a RBI single that would score Adams. With a 4-1 lead, the Royals would allow a run to the Seahawks in the seventh but no more as Warner walked away with a 4-2 win and a series sweep of Keiser.
