#23 Royals Drop Double O.T. Heartbreaker To Webber International

BABSON PARK, Fla. – The #23 Warner University Royals took on the Webber International University Warriors in an always exciting rivalry matchup on the court. In a game that lived up to the excitement, the Warriors managed to squeak out the upset in double overtime 91-90.
 
 
The Royals moved out to a quick 11 point lead just 5 minutes into the game 16-5. The Warriors would use the next 10 minutes of play to eat away at the lead and eventually tie it up at 31-31. After a back and forth battle, Khalil Ozuna hit a jumper to give the Royals a 39-37 lead at half.
 
With 10 minutes remaining in regulation, Melton Sanders hit a jumper that would give the Royals an 8 point advantage. The Warriors would then use the remaining time to again eat away the lead eventually tying it up and taking the lead. With 00:18 left on the clock in regulation, Melton Sanders hit a jumper that tied it up at 78-78. Andrew Lamb came away with a huge block that led to a turnover and a final opportunity that failed and sent the game into overtime.
 
Both teams kept the same mentality jabbing back and forth, and mad layup by the Warriors led to a quick down the court jumper for Khalil Ozuna to tie the game back and send it into the 2nd O.T. 86-86.
 
The Warriors gained the lead 91-89 with 9 seconds left. Khalil Ozuna was fouled and sent to the line with a chance to tie the game. He made the first free-throw and missed the second giving the Warriors the 91-90 win.
 
3 Royals put up double-doubles on the night. Khalil Ozuna had a season high 37 points and 15 rebounds. Nick Macon had 14 points and 10 assists. Denzell Osson had 10 points and 11 rebounds.
