LAKE WALES, Fla. – It was a battle of two defensive powerhouses in Lake Wales as Keiser came away with a 2-0 victory over the Royals.
There's a lot to be said as both defenses wouldn't budge. It was the Seahawks that netted both goals in the second half to take down the Royals. The Seahawks have not lost a Sun Conference game since October of 2016.
Sarah Bergkvist was outstanding in goal as she limited one of the best offenses in the country to 2 goals when they average just shy of 4 goals a game. Entering the game both teams had only allowed opponents to score 16 times. For the Royals a big credit is due to the defensives backs in
Emma Marshall,
Brooke Blommel, and
Morgan Newhart.
The schedule does not get any easier for the Royals as they face the NAIA #3 the Southeastern Fire on Wednesday.
