Fireworks Erupt As Lady Royals Soccer Win Senior Day On Golden Goal!

LAKE WALES, Fla. – The Lady Royals brought plenty of excitement to the field and Warner campus last night as they won their senior day match in glorious fashion right as the fireworks erupted for homecoming weekend!
 
In epic fashion the Royals and Conquistadors battled back and forth and down to the last minute but thanks to a Samanntha Warren Golden Goal in the 98th minute, the Royals captured their 11th win of the 2018 season 3-2!
 
In the first half the Conquistadors jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead in the 11th minute after knocking in a breakaway goal.
 
The Lady Royals finished the 1st half with 6 total shots but walked into halftime down 1-0.
 
At halftime the Lady Royals honored their 4 seniors, #1 Sarah Bergkvist, #8 Danielle Stanley, #9 Larissa Campelo, and #10 Samanntha Warren.

As the 2nd half started, Royals Senior Danielle Stanley wasted no time finding the back of the net to even things up in the match 1-1 in the 49th minute. 3 minutes later Naisha Alicea knocked in a penalty kick to give the Lady Royals a 2-1 lead.
 
The game was almost over when the Conquistadors were trying for one final push and were fouled inside the penalty box; in the 89th minute Florida National tied things up 2-2 and forced the game into overtime.  
 
In the 1st period of overtime the Royals applied strong offensive pressure, firing 4 shots in just 4 minutes and found the back of the net when Senior Samanntha Warren was able to cash in a goal off an assist from Natalia Carneiro and give the Lady Royals the 3-2 win!
 
Warren has now scored 10 goals this season and has added another Game-Winning-Goal to her resume!
