Hialeah, Fla. – Tonight the Royals traveled over to Florida National University to take on the Conquistadors for the 2
nd time this season and again, just like the 1
st matchup, the Royals took the Conquistadors down to the wire and were able to come away with the victory 87-83.
Head Coach
Sean Hanrahan had this to say after the game, "Our guys showed great resiliency on the road today. Florida National has a great team and gave us all we could handle twice. We had so many guys make plays down the stretch to erase an 11 point deficit with 8 minutes to go and force overtime. Then we executed in overtime to secure the victory 87-83!"
The Royals battled hard down the stretch and had contributions from nearly everyone on the roster in the 2
nd half and overtime to help complete the comeback.
Warner had 4 different players score in double digits:
These 4 players shots a combined 53% from the field tonight and shot 73% from the free throw line.
The Royals bench contributed 28 points tonight and the team scored 32 of their 87 points in the paint.
These two games against Florida National have been excellent early season tests for the Royals that they can continue to build off throughout the season. The team will have 1 day of rest before they are back in action on November 12
th against Johnson University (FL).
