Warner Women’s Soccer – Lady Royals Finish 2018 Season With Thrilling Win Over Lady Tigers!

Kissimmee, Fla. – This afternoon the Lady Royals took the field for the last time this 2018 season and faced off against the Central Christian College Lady Tigers.

The Lady Royals jumped out ahead 1-0 early in the 12th minute and never allowed the Lady Tigers to find the back of the net, sealing the 1-0 victory in the NCCAA Women's National Championships pool play.

The goal was scored by #27 Betina Gerhardt off an assist from #10 Samanntha Warren. The Lady Royals came out playing much better today as a team than they had over the past few games and came together, top to bottom, and earned this win today!

The Lady Royals defense stood firm the entire game, only allowing the Lady Tigers to get 4 shots on goal and were once again led by their defenders Emma Marshall, Cristina Clements, and Brooke Blommel down the stretch in the 2nd half.

The team finishes the season with an overall record of 13-9-1, a 6-4 conference record, and a 1-2 record in the NCCAA National Championships. Warner also qualified for the NCCAA Championships after winning the South Region Championship against Columbia International.

This has been an exciting season for the Lady Royals and it has been one to remember for everyone involved as the team set a new mark for most wins in a single season with 13, in only the 2nd year under Head Coach Payton Chitwood. Coach Chitwood has done a remarkable job with the team this year and they have made the Warner campus proud!
