Warner Women’s Basketball – Lady Royals Sniped By Night Hawks In TSC Matchup

LAKE WALES, Fla. – This afternoon the Lady Royals took on conference foe Thomas University and despite battling hard the entire game the Lady Royals fell to the Lady Night Hawks 80-66. This is Warner's 5th conference loss so far this year and brings their record to an overall 5-8.
 
The Lady Night Hawks came out clicking on all cylinders today as they made 5 of their first 8 shots and lead by 10 going into halftime, 42-32.
 
Lady Night Hawks #3 led all scorers with 28 points today.
 
Warner once again struggled to get out of the gate hot and found themselves down by 4 at the end of the 1st quarter 16-12 and even began to clean up some of their mistakes from the 1st quarter but still could not slow down the Lady Night Hawk offense and went into halftime with a 10 point deficit.
 
The Lady Royals came out playing much better team, fundamental basketball in the 2nd half, led by their center Alana St. Clair and their point guard Daijah Turner.
 
Alana St. Clair had 18 points, 7 rebounds and 1 block for the Lady Royals; while Daijah Turner scored 12 points, gathered 5 assists and had 4 steals in today's contest.
 
Daijah Turner has scored in double-digits in 12 out of 13 games so far this season and leads the team with 188 points.
 
The Lady Royals also had 2 more players score in double-digits against the Lady Night Hawks; D'Asia James scored 11 points and Valeria Merlos scored an even 10.
 
Warner improved their game every quarter but were never able to slow down the Lady Night Hawks offense, as they were never able grab a lead the entire game.
 
The Lady Royals shot the ball much better tonight, 42%, than their season average of 33% and can build off of this as they get ready for their next game against Emmanuel College.
