#10 Royals Drop 5 Set Thrill To Cincinnati Christian, Defeat Brewton-Parker Improvings to 6-2 on the Year

MOUNT VERNON, Ga. – Jordan Barreto puts up season high 23 kills in one match and ranks 15th in NAIA D-I in hitting percentage with .360. John Montalvo-Camacho adds 11 digs and continues his NAIA D-I 5th ranking in digs per game with 3.3.

GAME 1, Cincinnati Christian L (25-20, 22-25, 23-25, 25-14, 13-15)

The first set ended in favor of the Royals 25-20. The set was a close 21-20, then the Royals used a 4 point run to close out the set. The second set the Royals fell 22-25 to the Eagles. A late charge by the Royals in the set brought the score to within 1, 22-23, then the Eagles found a kill and an error to take set 2 from the Royals. Set three was another 2 point difference with the Royals falling 23-25. Flip flopping the entire match, the score was tied 23-23 before the Eagles again took the set 3 win from the Royals with an attack and an error. Set four shifted power to the Royals with a commanding 25-14 win. Early on in the set, the Royals used Manuel Panchame powerful serves to aid in a 7 point rally ultimately leading to the set win 25-14. In set five, both teams stayed neck and neck virtually swapping swerve for serve at every point. The Royals trailed 14-11 and used an Alexander Lazo kill assisted from Neil Werzer followed by capitalizing on an error to close the gap 13-14. However it was the Eagles that found the last point and took the overall match from the Royals 13-15.

GAME 2, Brewton Parker W (25-9, 25-15, 25-11)

The Royals turned around and took out their frustration on the Barons taking them in 3 straight sets. Bruno Teixeria led the way with 8 kills. Enrique Larach was stellar off the serving putting together 5 aces. Larach also led with 24 assists. Esdras Panchame Pavon brought up 5 digs.
