Royals Baseball Split With Sand Sharks Taking The TSC Series

LAKE WALES, Fla. – It was a weekend of mercy. The Royals run ruled the Sand Sharks 13-3 in game one. The Sand Sharks opened up and run ruled the Royals in game two 12-1. Then the Royals run ruled the Sand Sharks 18-7 in game 3.

Game 2 WU 1, USCB 12

The Royals struck first blood with Rio Russell smacking a triple into the right center gap. Junior Fermin then hit a sacrifice fly out to right center that was deep enough to score the run and give the Royals the 1-0 lead. It was all Sand Sharks form that point on. They scored two in the top of the 3rd, two more in the top of the 5th, then finished off the Royals with an 8 run top of the 8th.

Rio Russell takes player of the game for the Royals going 1-1 at the plate with a triple, 2 hit-by-pitches and one walk.

Game 3 WU 18, USCB 7

The final game of the series, the Royals run ruled the Sand Sharks 18-7. They used 16 hits in their offensive efforts. They plated at least one run in every inning and only used six innings to accomplish the feat. Rio Russell had another outstanding game going 3-4 at the plate with two triple and a double, he score 4 runs and was issued a walk. Jesse Alker mounted up 4 RBI giving him the new nickname RBI Alker. Cole Parks went 3-5 at the plate with one double, 3 RBI and 2 stolen bases adding to his NAIA D-I leading 25 for 28 stolen bags.

The Royals improve to 21-11 on the season and 4-5 in The Sun Conference.
