EASLEY, SC. -- Warner University Royals baseball improved to 33-25 on the season and advances to the semifinals in the chase for the NCCAA World Series after defeating the #3 seeded Campbellsville University in extra innings 7-6.
The Royals advance to the semifinal game which is currently underway against Southwestern Christian University. Warner leaped over the Tigers of Campbellsville to solidify themselves as 3-1 in Pool Play and finishing as the top seed in Pool B.
Ronnie Filipkowski started on the mound and only surrendered 2 runs, 1 earned run, 2 hits and striking out 3 over 4 innings of work.
Kody Smith earned the win in relief throwing 2 2/3 innings giving up 5 hits and no runs.
With out a doubt the Royals showed up with the bats as the offense put up 16 hits including three homeruns and two doubles.
Cole Parks went 5-5 at the plate with a solo homerun and 4 base hits while crossing the plate twice.
Mick Tinny went 4-5 with four base hits.
Derek Deler smashed a two run homerun finishing the game 2-3 at the plate with 2 RBI's and 2 runs scored.
Kevin Troncoso lit up Easley stadium with a 2 run homerun, a double and 3 RBI's finishing 3-4 at the plate.
Jesse Alker finished 1-3 at the plate with a crucial double in extra innings that scored the eventual winning run.
The Royals advance and play Southwestern Christian University at 8:15 p.m. in the semifinal round in a win or go home situation.
