Royals Win 2 in Successful Labor Day Classic

LAKE WALES FLA. – The Warner University Volleyball Team hosted their first home games of the season this weekend in their Royals Labor Day Classic Tournament. The tournament consisted of 5 teams, including Florida College, McPherson College, Trinity International University, St. Thomas University, and your Lady Royals.

Day 1 Recap
On day 1 of the tournament, the Royals went 1 and 1 with a win over The Trinity International Trojans, and a loss to the McPherson Bulldogs. The Royals showed up with excitement and intensity in both games of the day, and battled practically point for point with these two teams. For the day, the Royals combined for 86 kills, 139 digs, and 82 assists. Offensively, the team was led by Breeanna Navarro and Alexandra Gonzalez with 37 kills between the two of them during day 1. The defense was led by Andrea Lorenz with a season high 35 digs in one game, with 52 total on the day. Raygen Lee and Bailee Mack had stellar assist performances with a combined number of 57 assists on the day.

Day 2 Recap
The Lady Royals played in the last game of the tournament against the Florida College Falcons. Although it was a riveting game with intense volleys, the Royals came out on top, taking the game all the way to 5 sets. A majority of the points came from the offensive abilities of Breeanna Navarro, Sydney Ackermann, and Alexandra Gonzalez with 13, 11, and 10 kills respectively. All around the defense put on a commanding performance, but it was Aurora Alderman who led the defense with 24 digs on the day. Raygen Lee also had a great performance with 24 assists.

The Royals will be back in action at home against the Ave Maria Gyrenes on September 12th.
