LAKE WALES, Fla. – The Warner University Royals Men's Soccer team took on their conference rival the Webber International Warriors today in the 2
nd installment of this years Crooked Lake Cup; thanks to a late goal in the 2
nd half by #14
Nick Diaz the Royals were able to get the win and have swept the Warriors this year.
The first half was an old fashioned shootout that had both sides playing catch up on defense. The Royals potent offense helped them jump out to an early 2-0 lead in the first half.
Warner's first goal was scored by #7
Daniel Rodriguez in the 19
th minute. This is Rodriguez's 7
th goal of the season.
The second goal for the Royals was scored in the 25
th minute by freshman standout #11
Matheus Santiago. This is also the 7
th goal of the season for Santiago; both goals were unassisted and both Rodriguez and Santiago lead the team with 7 goals.
The Warriors were able to get a goal back in the 35
th minute when #7 Baxter Smith notched his 9
th goal of the season, bringing the score to 2-1 in favor of the Royals. Smith would again find the back of the net for the Warriors in the 43
rd minute off an assist from Kaleb Kelly.
The Royals and Warriors would enter the half tied 2-2; the Royals had 7 total shots with 5 on goal, while the Warriors had 10 total shots with 5 on goal.
As the second half started the defenses showed up for both sides as the offenses began to struggle to apply pressure. However, in the 73

Kenolson Collin for the Royals found #14
Nick Diaz open inside the box and Diaz was able to knock in the game winning goal.

With the 3-2 win, the Royals have won the 2018 Crooked Lake Cup. The Royals record their 9
