MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – NAIA #21 Warner University Men's Basketball win their third straight game and pick up their fourth straight conference win as they bested the Florida Memorial Lions tonight 89-83.
The Royals picked up their first win of 2019 with a strong showing against the Lions of Florida Memorial. With the win, the Royals enter a three game winning streak and have won their fourth straight Sun Conference matchup.
The Royals held the lead at the end of the first half 43-37.
Khalil Ozuna entered halftime as the Royals leader with 13 points and 4 rebounds. He made 4-6 from the field and 5-5 of his free-throws.
Warner picked up the win after finishing the game with a final score of 89-83.
Jaylan Shelton had his season best performance as he finished the night with 25 points, 3 rebounds and 1 steal. He shot an amazing 8-11 from the field hitting 1-2 from beyond the arch and nailing 8-8 free-throws.
Khalil Ozuna finished with 17 points and 6 rebounds while
Trae Graham celebrated his return with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 2 steals.
The Royals improve to 11-6 overall while carrying a 5-1 Sun Conference record. They will host St. Thomas University on Saturday where the Royals look to remain unbeaten in The Turner Athletic Center.
