MIAMI GARDENS – FLA. This evening the Women's Basketball Team traveled to Miami Gardens to face conference opponent Florida Memorial University. Despite playing well against the Lions, the Royals dropped the game by a score of 82-71.
The first half went to Warner, who outscored the Lions in both quarters (12-11 and 22-10). However, Florida Memorial came back with a vengeance in the second half and outscored the Royals (30-17 and 31-20).
Valeria Merlos led Warner's offense tonight, scoring a total of 20 points which is just 2 points less than her season high.
Following closely behind Merlos were
Daijah Turner and
D'Asia James who also scored double digit points: 14 and 13 points respectively.
The Royals were able to take full advantage of their free throw opportunities, as they only missed one in 13 opportunities. From the field, Warner had a shooting percentage of 46.2%.
Up next, The Royals will be back in the TAC on Saturday, January 5
th at 2:00 PM against Receiving Votes Thomas University, who is another conference opponent.
