LAKE WALES, Fla. – Warner University challenged the St. Thomas University Bobcats on their home turf this afternoon, but were unable to edge out the Bobcats, as they fell to their Sun-Conference rival 2-1.
The Royals are now 2-9 with a 1-4 TSC record. St. Thomas moves up to 5-3-1 on the year with the 2-1 victory.
Kirstin Campbell scored the lone goal for the Royals in the 1
st half, which tied the game 1-1 at the time. This was Campbell's 2
nd goal of the year and was an unassisted goal off a free kick from the right side of the goal.
The Royals were shorthanded today with a few injuries that kept some key players, like
Emma Marshall, off the field but still battled hard for 90 minutes and have shown improvement throughout the season.
Head Coach
Payton Chitwood is still confident that his team can figure out how the best way to gel on the field before the season is over. Expect Warner to finish this year strong as they continue to battle the injury bug and a tough Sun-Conference schedule, which has 5 games left and a season finale against the NAIA #2 Keiser University Seahawks on 11/2 in West Palm Beach.
