LAKE WALES, Fla. – The Royals opened up their 2019-20 home schedule will a convincing 114-52 victory over the Johnson University Suns.
The No. 21 Warner Royals are off to a three-game winning streak to start out the season. Twice the Royals have hung triple digits on an opponent. Tonight's victim, the Johnson University Suns.
The Royals took off and never looked back as they took a 59-18 lead into halftime. As a team, the Royals shot 64% from the field in the first half hitting 21-33. They hit 7-14 shots from beyond the arch while only making 10-16 free throw chances. The second half was much like the first in that the Royals put up 55 and took a 114-52 victory from the Suns.
Seven Royals reached double digit point totals on the night.
Maxwell Benoit led the way offensively for the Royals with 17-points, 5 rebounds, 1 block and an assist.
Kimar Edwards followed closely with 15-points, 3 assists and 2 steals while hitting 6-7 shots from the field.
Darryl Mercer dropped 5-7 from the field while adding 6 assists, 2 rebounds and 3 steals.
Michael Vandall,
Bart Schild and
Tyrell Pendergast all tallied 11-points apiece while Vandall rebounded a team high 9 boards.
