LAKELAND, Fla. – The Royals traveled to Lakeland to take on the Fire of Southeastern and fell in three straight sets (20-25, 20-25, 12-25).
The Royals and the Fire have met 33 times in the two school's history since 2006. The Royals held a 18-15 series lead heading into tonight's matchup. Out of the 33 matchups, 19 have been Sun Conference matches. The Royals also have the overall series lead over the Fire 13-6 when playing a Sun Conference matchup. The largest winning streak in the series also belongs to the Royals having won four straight in 2010-11.
The first set went to the Fire with a final of 20-25.
Alexandra Gonzalez led the Royals with 4 kills and the libero on the night
Savanah Griffin added 6 digs.

The second set also went to the Fire by the same score of 20-25. Gonzalez added 7 kills to her totals bringing her to 11 in the two sets.
Alyssa Muench elevated to 7 kills carrying an attack percentage of .500.

Madison Hughes split time as the Royals primary setter and finished the second set with 9 assists a piece.
Alexandra Gonzalez ended the night with 16 kills while completing the double-double with 11 digs.
Savanah Griffin led the way defensively with 19 digs and 2 assists.
Bailee Mack registered 13 assists on the night as well as 10 digs giving her a double-double.
The Royals fell in a three-set sweep to the Fire (20-25, 20-25, 12-25).
