LAKE WALES, Fla. – This evening the lady Royals took on the visiting Florida College Falcons. Despite a strong showing in the first half, the Royals were unable to climb their way back falling to the Falcons 49-63.
In a series that dates back to 2013, the Royals came into the game having never drop a game in The Turner Athletic Center to the Falcons at a perfect 4-0. The Falcons deployed a heavy defensive effort that held the Royals to just a 26% shooting percentage from the field.
The Royals trailed the Falcons 11-19 following the first quarter.
Avery Fogel and
Alana St. Clair heated up in the second quarter finishing off the first half with 11 and 10 points respectively winning the second quarter 14-10 over the Falcons and heading into the half trailing 25-29.
The Royals improved hitting 43% of the shots from beyond the arc in the second half, but it was not enough to stop the soaring Falcons that held the Royals off with a 49-63 victory.
Warner fell to the Falcons but had three players register double digit point totals.
Avery Fogel finished the night with 14 points.
Alana St. Clair ended the night one rebound shy of a double-double with 13 points and 9 rebounds.
Troi Grant had a great all-around night finishing with 10 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 4 steals while hitting a perfect 4-4 from the charity stripe.
