Warner Track and Field: Royals Compete at Warrior Alumni Meet and Add NCCAA National Qualifiers- Joseph Sets New School Record

FROSTPROOF – FLA. This past weekend, the Warner University Men's and Women's Track and Field Teams competed in the Warrior Alumni Meet, held in Frostproof.
 
Men's Track and Field:
 
The men's team ran fast times and are now NCCAA Qualifiers.
 
Sandro Joseph ran personal records at 60 m. He ran 6.88 in the prelims and is an NAIA qualifier He then ran 6.87 at the finals, placing 2 of 24, and is seeded #1 in the NCCAA. The school record was previously 6.91, held by Steven Harris in Clermont in 2006. Joseph is the Warner track and field athlete of the week for breaking this record. Joseph also ran a 22.33 200 m, placing 9 of 25 athletes.
 
Derek Sobel ran a personal record at 60m: with a time of 7.24. He placed 13 of 25.
He ran a personal record and standard for NCCAA at 200m: 22.93 Placing 15 of 25.
 
Jamesley Chery ran a personal record at 60m: 7.2. Previously he ran 7.46. Chery placed 15 of 25. He ran standard for NCCAA at 200m: 23.12, placing 17 of 25.
 
Vance Bennett ran 60m: 7.17 equal his personal record, placing 10 of 25 and ran personal record at 200m: 23.21, which was previously 23.36, this placed him 18 of 25. He jumped 5.53m placing 6 of 13.
 
Meshawn Neely is a double NCCAA National Qualifier ran 60m: 7.14 at prelims and 7.13 at finals, placing 7 of 24. He also ran 200m: 22.73 Conference Qualifier placing 12 of 25.
 
William Slade ran his second best at 60 m hurdles: 8.78, placing 4 of 6.
Slade had personal records at 200m: 23.44, placing 20 of 25 and personal record at 400m: 53.77, placing 11 of 16.
 
Jeleel Swift ran 60m hurdles: 8.89, which is his season best placing 5 of 6.
 
Tyler Andrews ran a personal record 52.61, a NCCAA standard, placing 9 of 16.
 
Jonathan Governor ran again, the NCCAA standard at 400m: with a time of 52.03 which is a season best, placing 5 of 16.
 
Daniel Esteril ran a season best 400m: 53.58, placing 10 of 16.
 
Sadrick Severe ran the long sprint double 800m and 400m, and he already qualified in both events for NCCAA. At 400m: 50.96. He ran his second best placing 3 of 16. At 800m: 2.01.46, placing 2 of 7.
 
Keontae Turner ran at 800m: 2.02.99, placing 3 of 7 and is already an NCCAA qualifier.
 
Chris Beck ran against the wind, 5000m: 18.58.45 placing 2 of 2.
 
Joel Zaila ran the mile: 4.46.95 which is his season best. Placing 2 of 6.
Any distance more than 1 lap had a heavy wind against at the back stretch.
 
FIELD EVENTS
Tyric Davis jumped at long jump 5.46 m which is his season best, placing 8 of 13 and for first time doing triple jump: 11.09m personal record placing 6 of 13. He also ran 400m season best 55.83, placing 12 of 16.
 
Aaron Alfred jumped 10.69m at triple jump for his first time, placing 7 of 7.He threw shot put 7.87m placing 8 of 8. He also ran a personal record at 60m: 7.68, placing 22 of 24.
 
Deontaviuse Carter threw 11.74m at shot put which is his season best, placing 4 of 8. He threw weight 10.35m, also a season best placing 4 of 4.
 
Tyler Gonzalez jumped 1.60m, placing 3 of 5.
 
 
Women's Track and Field:
 
Li'Mackie McMahon ran a personal best at 60 m prelims, 8.30 and 8.25 at finals, placing her 6 of 9. She qualified at 200m: 27.44 placing 7 of 15, and also placed 6 of 12 in long jump: 4.44m
 
Azaline Thompson jumped triple jump for the first time with 9.90m. She hit the Standard for Nationals and Conference, placing her 4 of 5. She ran personal record at 60m: 8.57, placing 9 of 9. At 200m she ran season best 27.70, a conference qualifier. Placing 9 of 15. In a busy day, Azaline also jumped long jump 4.40m placing 7 of 12.
 
Chelsey Ernest ran a season best at 200m: 27.65, a Conference Qualifier placing 8 of 15. She also ran season best at 400m: 1.05.45, a Conference Qualifier placing 3 of 7.
 
Kristen Isabelle ran her second best at 60m hurdles: 10.19 placing 3 of 3.
 
Isabelle Lachemeier threw at shot put, a personal record 9.12 m, placing 4 of 6 and is a Conference Qualifier.
 
Tatyana Dennis ran a personal record at 400m: 1.10.67, placing 3 of 7.
 
Kalyn Buteyn ran 3000m at 13.39.87 and was the only competitor in this distance.
 
Both the Men's and Women's Teams will be competing next Friday and Saturday, February 15th and 16th at NCCAA Nationals.
