WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – Hot start for the Royals leads to a 2-0 day with a couple of phenomenal wins. Royals took down NAIA powerhouse #11 Campbellsville 8-0 in a 5-inning run rule game. Then Warner defeated Olivet Nazarene 7-5 with a walk off homer in the bottom of the 7
th.
GAME 1 WU 8, #11 CU 0
Kaitlyn Ridolph started the scoring for the Royals as she singled to center scoring
Avery Cotterill.
Brittany Winget, also the starting pitcher in the contest, backed up Ridolph's single with a double that scored Ridolph and gave the Royals a 2-0 lead following the bottom of the first.
In the bottom of the second,
Kasey Heslin punched
Breyona Shells ticket home with a base hit to left field.
Later in the inning,
Avery Cotterill shot a double into left field that scored
Kayleigh Walters and vaulted the Royals out to a 4-0 lead.
Caitlyn Yockey busted things back open in the bottom of the fifth when she singled into center scoring
Kaitlyn Ridolph and
Katelyn Richards.
Breyona Shell hit a SAC fly to center field that scored
Caitlyn Yockey. Then
Megan Garfinkel plated the last RBI of the game when she singled into left field scoring
Caitlyn Yockey.
The Royals completed a 5-inning shutout over the Tigers of Campbellsville winning 8-0.
Brittany Winget tossed 5 scoreless innings while only giving up 1-hit, walking 2 and striking out 5. Winget moves to 1-0 on the season.
GAME 2 WU 7, ONU 5
Trailing 3-0 after a big top of the 1
stfor the Tigers, the Royals sent
Avery Cotterill to the plate. Cotterill rocked back and fired a ball over the left field wall giving the Royals a run on the board.
Olivet Nazarene got another run in the top of the 3
rdextending their lead to 4-1. In th bottom of the third,
Avery Cotterill again had a big effect as she shot a single down the left field line that scored
Kasey Heslin.
Sara Bruno sent a ball over the wall in the bottom of the third with 2-runners on base giving her a 3-run shot and regaining the lead for the Royals 5-4.
Olivet Nazarene mustered up a run in the top of the 5
th tying the game at 5-5.
In the bottom of the 7
thwith 2 outs,
Kaitlyn Ridolph reared back and fired up a ball on a line that left the yard for a 2-run shot and a Walk Off for the Royals.

Sylvia Welsh got the win in the game throwing all 7-innings. She surrendered 4 earned runs off of 6 hits while walking 5 and striking out 4.
The Royals continue their weekends games tomorrow against Mount Mercy University and Bryan College.
