#17 Warner Men’s Basketball – Royals Bow Out Of TSC Championship Tournament Following Semi-Final Loss

LAKE WALES, Fla. – The Royals fell to Coastal Georgia in the first semi-final game of yesterday's Sun Conference Championship Tournament. 
 
Though Warner no longer is in contention for The Sun Conference Tournament Championship, they still hold onto the Regular-Season TSC Championship and possess and automatic bid into the NAIA DII National Tournament. 
 
The Royals faced off against Coastal Georgia in the semi-final matchup. Warner bringing in the #1 seed and the quarterfinal round bye, Coastal Georgia, the #5 seed, took down the #4 seeded Keiser Seahawks in the quarterfinal to advance to the semi-final game.
 
It was a 5-point separation at the end of the first half with the Mariners on top of the Royals 47-42. 
 
Tied up at 74-74 with 5:33 remaining in the game, the Mariners kicked it into overdrive and went on a scoring spree that would give them the eventual 91-79 victory over the Royals and advancing to the Championship game. 
 
Inability to rebound spelled trouble for the Royals as the teams top rebounder was held to just 1 offensive rebound. 
 
Bart Schild led the way for the Royals scoring 17-points which ties his season high which he's now scored 17-points in three games over the season. He made 6-8 from the field for a 75% shooting percentage and knocked down 5-9 from the charity stripe. Defensively, Schild pulled in 5 rebounds and now sits 4-rebounds shy of 100 on the season.
 
Trae Graham was held to more of a silent night as he scored 16-points shooting 7-14 from the field. Defensively, the Mariners only allowed Graham to grab 1 board and he added a steal. 
 
Darryl Mercer Jr. added 13-points as he was 7-8 in his free throw attempts. Jaylan Shelton was having a great night shooting 4-5 from the field and making both of his free throw attempts but fell victim of an early foul out finishing his night with 10-points and 3 steals. 
 
The Royals postseason is not done yet as they will travel to compete in the 28thAnnual Division II NAIA Men's Basketball National Championship.
