MOUNT VERNON, Ga. – The Warner University Royals fired up the start of their season with a 3-set Mid-South Conference sweep over the Bluefield College Rams.
Jose Morales finished the match with 15 kills and 3 blocks.
Big time win for the Royals to start their 2019 campaign under new head coach
Luiz Lustosa, the Royals stunned the Rams with a 3-set sweep.
Jose Morales had a big day finishing with 15 kills on 30 attempts with just 3 hitting errors giving him an attack percentage of .400. He also came through defensively with 2 solo blocks, 1 assisted block and 6 digs.
Franky Zamora led the way defensively with 10 digs and also added 24 assists in the sweep.
The Royals took set one by a final score of 25-19. The Royals started out strong and held a 5-point lead the majority of the set.
The second set was and exchange of point for point almost the entire set until the Royals pulled away at the end with a 5-2 run to take set two 25-23.
Several rallies led to a dominating third set for the Royals as they completed the sweep over the Rams 25-15.
The Royals improve to 1-0 on the season and 1-0 in the Mid-South Conference.
