MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Warner Women's Basketball Defense held the (RV) St. Thomas Bobcats to 11-points in the first half. Despite the first half efforts, the Royals fell to the Bobcats 36-54.
Warner hung with the Bobcats in an even first quarter where the Bobcats held the lead 10-9. Then the Royals staggered the Bobcats as they held them to just 1-point scored in the second quarter while scoring 10-points of their own. Warner took a 19-11 lead into halftime.
The second half spelled out a different story as the Bobcats doubled their shooting percentage from the field and fired up for 43 second half points. The Royals struggled form the field clinging to a shooting percentage just shy of 22% putting up 17 second half points.
The lone senior on the floor for the Royals,
Randi Chandler, finished the night with 10-points, 3 steals and 2 rebounds.
The Royals season is coming to a close as they only have three games remaining on the schedule. Their next game is against Florida Memorial University Saturday February 9
th, 2019 at 2:00 p.m.
