HICKORY POINT BEACH, Fla. – Advancing as the No. 2 seed into the Silver bracket, Warner University Beach Volleyball is set to face No. 3 seeded Southeastern University for a Polk County battle of Sun Conference rivals.
The AVCA Small College Beach Volleyball Championships welcomes the best teams from around the nation to Tavares, Florida at Hickory Point Beach to compete.
With drastic weather changes including a 2 ½ lightning delay, the Royals battled through defeating Ottawa University (KS.) to solidify their No. 2 seed in tomorrow's Silver Bracket.
The Royals kicked off their day against Vanguard University (CA.) at 8:00 a.m. this morning. They fell to the Lions by a final score of 1-4. The Lions would continue on to finish their day as the best in pool play finishing 3-0 overall. The Royals #1 pair of
Alexandra Gonzalez and
Ashley Kube defeated the #1 pair of the Lions 21-18, 11-21, 14-16. Gonzalez and Kube delivered the only loss that the Lions took out of 15 matches played.
In their second matchup of the day, the Royals found themselves coupled with bitter rivals and reigning NAIA AVCA National Champions the Webber International University Warriors. The Warriors narrowly escaped the bite of the Royals as Warner fell 2-3. The Royals #2 pair,
Cheyenne Miller and
Madison Kleinmeier defeated the The Sun Conference Pair of the Year Warriors #2 pair 21-19, 23-21 for a clean sweep. The Royals #5 pair,
Alyssa Muench and
Aurora Alderman also took the win 17-21, 21-16, 17-15.
The third matchup found the Royals victors over the Ottawa University (KS.) Braves 3-2. The Royals took victories in the #1, #2 and #5 pairs. In those three pairs, Warner finished with all three clean sweeps going 6-0. #1

Cheyenne Miller and
Madison Kleinmeier won 21-18, 21-15. #5
Alyssa Muench and
Aurora Alderman finished off the sweeps with a final score of 21-17, 21-17.
No. 2 Warner will take on No. 3 Southeastern tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. The winner will advance to the Silver Bracket Championship to face the winner of No. 1 William Carey (MS.) and No. 4 Ottawa University (KS.) at 1:00 p.m.
