PENSACOLA, Fla. – A tough ending to the Royals season opening road trip as they dropped to 0-2 following an overtime loss to the Eagles of Pensacola Christian.
The Eagles jumped ahead 1-0 with a goal in the 37
thminute by Lucas Sampaio. The Royals tied it up 1-1 with a late 81
stminute goal by
Aser Jeune.
Aser Jeune, the freshman product of Treasure Coast High School, scored his first collegiate goal.
The Royals rifled off 10 shots in the game with 6 of them being on goal. The Eagles had a strong effort to start overtime and planted a goal in the back of the net in the 93
rdminute to win 2-1.
Aser Jeune was the lone goal scorer for the Royals while he added 3 shots with 2 of them being on goal.
Daniel Rodriguez broke loose for 3 shots in the game.
Warner will now shift focus to their home opener Tuesday August 27
that 1:00 p.m. where they will take on Ave Maria University in a non-conference matchup.
