Brunswick, GA. – The Mariners from the College of Coastal Georgia (CCG) were able to defeat the Warner Royals in 4 sets tonight, in what was the first Sun – Conference matchup of the 2019 season for either side.
Scoring Overview:
1st Set: CCG – 25; WU – 25
2nd Set: CCG – 26; WU – 24
3rd Set: CCG – 22; WU – 25
4th Set: CCG – 25; WU – 22
Each set was a hard fought battle until the end, but ultimately the Mariners were able to capitalize on the home court advantage and grab their 6
th win of the season, along with their first TSC win.
The Royals are now 2-4 on the year and are stilling learning how to rely on each other on the court and play together as a team. With many new parts being added to the lineup this season it can be tough to find the team chemistry needed to win, but once the Royals do they will be a very tough team to beat!
Alexandra Gonzalez led the Royals with 14 kills and 14 digs, while
Bailee Mack and
Madison Hughes each had a team high 18 assists.
Gonzalez, the junior from Miami, has done a good job taking on a leadership role on the floor for the Royals and puts this on display with her style of play and intensity that she brings to the court.
With a deep bench and many tools to use, expect to see Head Coach
Chrissy Moskovits and her Royals find a winning formula that they can bring to their next match on September 18
