LAKE WALES, Fla. – Warner Football hits the road yet again having started their season with three out of four road games. The Royals play their game in Grayson, Ky. at Kentucky Christian University.
Three football games, three different states. Grayson, Ky. marks the fourth state the Royals will play in this season. Each week has watched some growing pains for the Royals who boast a very young team, however, each game has had its victories, the Royals are close to putting all of the tools together. They've played two NAIA Top 16 teams in their three matchups so far, and the schedule will not get much easier.
Words from Royals head coach
Kirk Talley, "We look forward to continuing the journey this season. Our men are focused and will be giving it their best Saturday. We will do our best to finishing this non-divisional game schedule strong."
Despite an 0-3 start, the Royals hold 11 NAIA Top 43 rankings as a team. The Royals have faced two opponents that are NAIA Playoff candidates. Impressively, the Warner football offensive line has proved itself as one of the best in the nation as they've only allowed 1 sack over the three games. The Royals offensive line consists of;
Torri Young,
Jarrett Browning,
Tanner Sims,
Chase Kleehammer,
Jonas Small,
Garrett Evins,
Donald Carruthers,
Dalton Kolbylarczyk,
Logan Davis and
Luke Hiers. This offensive line that only has allowed one sack, has also pushed through opening up the possibility for the Royals running game that ranks 36
thnationally in total rushing offense per game averaging 160-yards.
The Knights carry a high-powered high-flying offense that ranks them #1 in the NAIA in total passing yards with 1480 through four games played. The Knights enter Saturday's game 2-2 overall. The Knights also boast a #2 ranking nationally with 370-yards passing per game.
