LAKE WALES, Fla. – A
Jaquez Dickerson double-double and
Rod Boggan career high 21 points led the Royals to a staggering 51-point victory over the Johnson University Suns.
The Royals and Suns have met six times in a series dating back to the first game in 2015. The Royals remain a perfect 6-0 all time against the Suns with tonight's 103-52 win. Warner has also held the Suns to just 52-points for the third time in the six games while the Royals average 100.83 points per game.
Five Royals finished with double digits tonight with another two just a basket away.
Rod Boggan led the way with a career high 21-points, 6 assists and 5 rebounds nailing 6-9 from the field.
Jaquez Dickerson finished the night with a double-double scoring 18-points and grabbing 10 boards (6) defensive and (4) offensive. Dickerson also added a team high 2 blocks and 3 steals.
Logan West broke out in his true freshman appearance and finished the night with 13-points, 2 rebounds and 2 steals.
Jordin Jackson and
Jack McDonald were the other Royals to reach double digits with 10-points each and McDonald brought down 7 rebounds in just 13 minutes of play.
The Royals have a rich history of winning season openers and home openers as they have not dropped a season opener since 2005. They continued the 15 year streak with the 103-52 win over the Suns tonight.
Warner will host Florida National on Tuesday, October 27
th inside of the T.A.C. in a rubber match that saw the Conquistadors win 87-82 over the Royals last season. The Royals are 6-2 all time over Florida National and 4-1 when facing them at home.
