Box Score WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Warner football fell to NAIA powerhouse No. 9 Keiser with a final score of 0-61.
For the first time since their season opener in the fall of 2018 the Royals failed to add points to the scoreboard against No. 9 Keiser this evening. Warner was averaging 20 points per game prior to tonight's shutout.
Impressively, the Seahawks found a way to stop a fairly strong Royals offense that averages 320 offensive yards per game and held them to just 80 total yards.
It was a rough night for Royals quarterbacks that saw three different arms in the position.
CJ Strange,
Brayden Pierce and
Sir-coy Gray all took snaps. The three faced a lot of pressure from the strong Keiser defense that tallied 7 sacks in the game.
Tyler Bailey led the Royals in net rushing yards with 8 attempts and 39 yards.
Javon Wilson was held tight carrying the ball 18 times and rushing for 30 yards.
The Royals defense was led by
Sirr Talbott who finished the game with 12 tackles (5 solo and 7 assists).
AJ Robinson also finished his night with double-digit tackles with 10 total tackles and 7 of them unassisted.
One of the only strengths of tonight's game was the Royals kick returners,
Rodderick Johnson Jr. returned 5 kicks for 116 yards including a 75-yard scamper early in the first half.
Malachi McNealy returned 2 kicks for 61 yards including a 32-yard return.
The schedule does not get any lighter as the Royals take on the NAIA No. 15 Southeastern University Fire next weekend. Warner and Southeastern have faced off six times in the two schools history, the Fire own all six victories over the Royals.
