MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Royals traveled to Miami Gardens yesterday in a tough matchup against the Bobcats of St. Thomas. A well fought game ended in the final minutes in favor of the Bobcats.
The Bobcats kept the Royals offense silent during the first half of play. It was STU's Karina Medina that struck first blood in the 29
th minute with a header off a corner kick off the foot of Leslie Deleon.
The game remained calm until the Royals struck gold in the 70
th minute with
Maddie Manzke's third season goal with the assist from
Olivia Slaton.
With the game tied 1-1 in the 86
th minute, STU's Kayla Jackson knocked through game winner with an assist from Karina Medina.
The Royals fell to the Bobcats dropping just their second game of the season. Both teams had entered the game with one loss. The Bobcats improve to 4-1 on the season overall.
Warner's schedule does not get any easier as they take on the NAIA reigning national champions No. 1 Keiser in Lake Wales next weekend.
