MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Warner played St. Thomas for the second matchup this season and unfortunately they left Miami on the wrong side of an overtime loss.
The Royals struck first with a 33-yard connection from
Dylan Blair to
Trevon Jackson in the second quarter. This was the fourth TD connection between the pair on the season.
Santiago Tovar knocked a 22-yard field through the uprights in the middle of the third quarter giving the Royals a 10-6 lead. In the opening seconds of the fourth quarter,
Dylan Blair scrambled for a 1-yard TD run extending the lead 17-6. Two unanswered TD's by the Bobcats led to a 20-17 Bobcat lead.
Santiago Tovar nailed a 19-yard field goal with 00:21 left on the clock capping off a 11 paly 94-yard drive by the Royals sending the game into overtime. The Bobcats found the endzone in their opening drive of overtime and then held the Royals by forcing a turnover to take the game by a 20-27 final in favor of the Bobcats.
Dylan Blair completed 26-51 passes for 331-yards and 1 TD through the air along with 1 rushing TD.
Javon Wilson carried the ball 21 times for 100-yards.
Trevon Jackson broke the 100-yard mark catching 7 passes for 112-yards and a TD.
Cohen Begue caught 5 passes for 83-yards in a close second.
Moses Mertilus commanded a Royals defense by leading with 13 total tackles.
Santiago Tovar finished the season perfect as the Royals kicker hitting 4-4 field goals on the season and making 9-9 point after attempts.
Warner will enter the offseason after finishing 2-4 overall and a 1-3 Mid-South Conference record.
