LAKE WALES, Fla. – With the next two series canceled because of precautionary reasons, the Royals took the field tonight in what could have possibly been the last game of the month of March; squaring off against the Fighting Bees of Saint Ambrose.
After dropping a tough game to the Bees last night, the Royals rebounded and downed the Bees 12-4.
Warner took an early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first off a triple and a single that scored
Taylor Briggs and
Scott Fickas.
Saint Ambrose bounced back with a 4-run inning in the top of the 2
nd inning, same as they did last night, but the Royals answered back with a 6-run bottom half of the 2
nd and held a 8-4 lead after 2 innings.
Warner's offense came out in full affect tonight, tallying 16 hits, and backed up
Andrew Yarbrough, who earned his 2
nd win of the season after throwing 6 full innings.
The Royals had a total of 5 players with a multiple hit game,
Taylor Briggs,
Rio Russell,
Scott Fickas,
Josh Strickland, and
David Torres.
This is the 14
th win this season for Warner baseball and could possibly be the final game of the 2020 season, but this decision will be reevaluated again later on this month.
