LAKELAND, Fla. – The Royals dropped their first game of the season tonight to the NAIA #4 Southeastern Fire.
The final score in Lakeland tipped in favor of the Fire 5-0 over the Royals.
The Fire netted all five of their goals in the first half of the game. Stunningly, Nairia Lopez of Southeastern came away with all five goals.
The Royals offense was held at bay for the most part registering two shots on the night. The pair of shots were on goal and taken by
Sara Machado and
Rachel DeWeerd.
It was a rough night for
Mackenzie Spurling dropping her first game of the season in goal, she allowed the 5 goals in the first half on 7 shots. Spurling moves to 1-1 in net.
Gabrielle Barnette took over in the second half and faced 8 shots saving 3 and keeping the Fire scoreless in the second half.
The Royals will have a week off before they see action again, that will be welcoming the Crooked Lake rivals, Webber International University on Saturday, September 26
th at 7:00 p.m.
