Warner Women’s Basketball – Royals Succumb To No. 16 Fire Despite Strong First Half

LAKE WALES, Fla. – Warner falls to 5-10 overall following last night's loss to the No. 16 Fire.
 
The loss marks the 18th straight loss to the conference foe. Southeastern ranked No. 16 in the most recent NAIA coaches top-25 poll and holds and undefeated 9-0 TSC record.
 
Despite the loss the Royals boasted three players with double digit points. Isabella Lopez and D'Asia James tied with a team high 15 points while Haley Gantt added 13. Lopez registered a season high 7 assists with 4 rebounds while shooting 4-8 form three-point range. James hit 7-12 from the field and added 2 steals. Gantt was held to just 5 rebounds but shot 4-7 from the field nailing 3-5 from three-point range and registering a block.
 
The Royals took the first quarter from the Fire 15-14. The second quarter Southeastern took a with a slight edge of 20-16. The Royals trailed the Fire 34-31. Southeastern went on to add 50 more points in the second half holding the Royals to 30 second half points. The Fire took the eventual victory 84-61 over the Royals.
