LAKE WALES, Fla. - Warner improves their home winning streak to nine straight dating back to last year. Their ninth win came in overtime over the Nighthawks.
After battling for 40 minutes the Royals and the Nighthawks were tied 80-80. The Royals needed an extra five minutes to secure the win following the first overtime.
The first half was a back-and-forth battle with a score of 41-39 in the favor of Warner. In the second half, Thomas came back with some force leaving the score at 41-39 for that half in the favor of the Nighthawks.
Darryl Mercer surpassed his season-high tonight with 26 points, recording 1 steal, 1 block, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists. Mercer went 5-5 on the free-throw line and 3-6 from the arc.
Rod Boggan and
Josh Glesil both finished with a double-double. Boggan scored 11 points and recorded 12 boards, while Glesil netted 10 points and 10 boards.
The Royals came out enthusiastic following the overtime pause and outscored the Nighthawks 12-6.
The Royals improve to 12-9 against the Nighthawks all-time, being 4-1 in the last five matchups. After tonight Warner has extended their wins to 6 straight, while still carrying an undefeated record at home.
