LAKE WALES, Fla. - Warner falls to the Bobcats for the second time this season with a final score of 70-58.
The Royals started off strong holding a 7 point lead for most of the first quarter. The Bobcats used a run and cut into the lead leaving the end of the first quarter with a 20-17 lead. Warner then used a lopsided 18-8 second quarter jumping out to as much as an 18 point lead late in the second quarter. The score heading into half was a commanding 38-25 lead in favor of the Royals.
In the third quarter, it was the Bobcats that came out fired up as they gained 15 points back and actually took the lead away from the Royals 51-49. In the third quarter, the Bobcats started pulling away establishing a 10 point lead with just 1:07 left on the clock. The Royals were unable to fend off the Bobcats falling 70-58.
Three Royals registered double digit points in the game. Dianis Hurtado led the way with 13 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists. Carly Price added 12 points with 3 assists and shot 4-6 from the field and 4-6 from beyond the three point line. Haley Gannt finished the game with 11 points, 6 rebounds and an astounding 3 blocks.
With the loss the Royals fall to 6-12 overall and 1-9 in TSC play. They'll shift focus to their rubber match with across the lake rivals Webber International University on Tuesday Jan 26th in Babson Park.
