BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - The 2021 All Mid-South Conference Sun Division teams and individual award winners were announced by conference officials on Thursday.

Keiser's (Fla.) Marques Burgess is the Craig Mullins MSC Sun Offensive Player of the Year, while Southeastern's (Fla.) Marc Viechec is the MSC Sun Defensive Player of the Year
The individual awards and all-conference teams are selected by a vote of the Sun Division's coaches. Coaches are not allowed to vote for their own players.
In addition to the players of the year, Ave Maria's (Fla.) Joshua Jenkins is the Offensive Freshman of the Year while Southeastern's Joey Chatman is the Defensive Freshman of the Year. Southeastern's Cesar Rivas-Sandoval is the 2021 Ron Finley Sun Division Coach of the Year. Southeastern's Adam Waugh is the Sun Division Assistant Coach of the Year.
Burgess averaged 155.8 rushing yards per game and accounted for 18 touchdowns this season. He leads the NAIA in carries (240), total yards (1,558) and in yards per game (155.8). Burgess' 18 touchdowns are fourth-best nationally.
Viechec led the Fire with 78 total tackles this season. He recorded 9.5 tackles for loss and three sacks. Viechec's 7.8 tackles per game are the second-most in the Sun Division.
In his freshman campaign, Jenkins caught a team-high 49 passes for 987 yards and 10 touchdowns. His yards and touchdowns also led the Gyrenes this season. Jenkins leads the Sun Division in receptions, yards, yards per game (89.7) and touchdowns.
Chatman recorded 27 tackles in his first season with Southeastern. He led the Fire with a team-high four interceptions and seven pass break ups.
Rivas-Sandoval led Southeastern to an 8-3 overall record during his second year at the helm of the Fire. Southeastern won a share of the MSC Sun Division Crown finishing 5-1 in conference play.
Waugh is the defensive coordinator for Southeastern. He was in charge of the Fire defense that allowed 20.1 points per game, 299.5 yards per game and 107.5 rush yards per game. Southeastern recorded one shutout and gave up less than 10 points twice this season.
29 players earned first team all-conference honors and 29were selected second team all-conference as voted on by the coaches. Ties for all-conference teams were not broken.
