LAKE WALES, Fla. – Royals fall to Florida Memorial University in Conference opener.
Royals played the Florida Memorial Lions for the first conference game of the season. This was the 34
th time the Royals have faced the Lions.
It was a wonderful night in the Turner Athletic Center once again. This year the Royals are ecstatic to welcome back all fans to home games.
In the first quarter, Royals scored 14 and the Lions 18. In the second quarter, Warner scored 20 and Florida Memorial 27. At the end of the third quarter the Royals outscored the Lions, Warner registered 28 points, and FMU 24. Going into the fourth, Warner was down 62-69. The Royals outscored the Lions 45-40 in the second half. With the help of the Royals shooting over 40 percent from the field, it was almost enough to surpass the Lions for the first time in 5 years.
Chanelle McDonald had another double-double on the night as she scored 21 points and recorded 12 rebounds.
Jasmine Edwards also had a double-double on the night the Royals. Edwards collected 16 points and 13 rebounds.
Isabella Lopez and Audre'Anna Judie both had 13 points each against the Lions.
The Royals will play at St. Thomas University on Saturday, November 20, at 2:00 pm.
