LAKE WALES, Fla. – Royals Sun Conference Championship bid falls short in upset loss to Bobcats.
Tournament host Warner fell in a close matchup to the Bobcats. The Royals trailed by 12 with just a minute and a half left.
Joseph Martz caught fire in the final minute sinking three 3-pointers in a row to cut into the Bobcats lead but the Royals were unable to make magic appen as they fell 78-73.
- Jospeh Martz had a game leading 21 points hitting a perfect 6-6 from the floor and 5-5 from beyond the arc.
- Rod Boggan finished the game with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
- Darryl Mercer Jr. had 12 points shooting 5-12 from the field.
- Logan West stepped in defensively and led the Royals with 8 rebounds, 2 steals and 1 block.
- As a team the Royals shot 43% from the field and 72% from the charity stripe.
- The Royals held the early lead 6-0 making the first two 3-point shots of the game.
St. Thomas advances into the championship game to take on the Seahawks of Keiser.
Though the TSC Tournament run is over, with the regular season title in hand, the Royals will head to the NAIA National Tournament with the locations to be determined next week.
