KISSIMMEE, Fla. - Warner used 29 hits combined to take both wins scoring 26 runs.
(19) Warner softball took commanding wins in yesterday's back to back matchups. They met up with Point Park University for just the third time in the two schools history on the softball field. The Royals improve to 3-0 all-time over the Pioneers.
Warner then went on to play Spring Arbor University (Mich.) in the second matchup of the day and improved to 8-0 in the all-time series dating back to 2006.
GAME 1 - WU 21, PPU 0
The Royals notched 21 runs in the shutout against the Pioneers. Alison Yawn was perfect at the plate going 5-5 with 4 runs scored and 1 RBI. Madison Ioia went 3-4 with 3 RBI's and 1 run scored. Katelyn Richards, Aston Owen and Breyonna Shell all registered 2 hits in the contest with a combined 9 RBI's.
Tiffany Dodson received the Win and improved to 7-2. Dodson tossed the 5 complete inning shutout only surrendering 3 hits and striking out 5. She faced 19 batters out of a minimum of 15.
GAME 2 - WU 5, SAU 3
The Cougars jumped out to an early 2-0 lead before adding one onto it making it 3-0. The Royals bats fired up and added a 5 run bottom of the fifth inning to take the eventual 5-3 win.
Warner spread out 11 hits through the lineup with Katelyn Richards and Sara Bruno registering multi hit performances. Sara Bruno finished the game 2-3 at the plate with 3 RBI's and a run scored. Her two hits were her 5th double this season and her 1st homerun.
Kara Bradley threw 4.1 innings spreading out 8 hits and 1 earned run. Tiffany Dodson snuck in and sniped her 7th win of the season throwing 2.2 innings only giving up 1 hit and struck out 3.
