LAKE WALES, Fla. – The Royals took two out of the three games from the (4) Bobcats to win the series.
Game one
In the bottom of the 3
rd,
David Torres hit a home run to left field registered 3 RBIs scoring
Zachary Balogh and Anthony Carpi which made the game 3-0 in favor of the Royals. The next run for Warner was scored in the bottom of the 4
th when
Jan Martinez singled up the middle, recorded an RBI scoring
Devin Frost, advanced the game to 4-0. The Bobcats answered back in the 6
th and 8
th inning to tie up the game 4-4.
In the bottom of the 8
th,
Tyler Brown singled to right field, listed an RBI scoring Balogh made the game 5-4 Warner took the lead.
John Pichman then singles to left field recorded 2 RBIs to score
Trevor Thomas and
Josh Strickland.
Taylor Briggs took the win off the mound for game one yesterday improving his overall record to 2-1. He was one of the four pitchers to throw for Warner in game one against St. Thomas.
Game two
In the bottom of the 2
nd, Pichman scored off of a wild pitch to improve the score to 1-0 Royals took the lead. In the 4
th inning, the Bobcats answered back and scored some runs to make the game 2-1 in favor of St. Thomas but that didn't stop the Royals from putting up a run to tie the game. Martinez flied out to right field for a sacrifice fly to score and registered an RBI to score Frost. It was a back and forth battle between the Royals and the Bobcats.
In the bottom of the 5
th, Pichman hit a home run to left field and scored Frost and Strickland, improving the game to 5-3 Royals on top. In the top of the 9
th, St. Thomas answered back and capitalized on an error to score 2 runs. The game went to 10 innings, The Bobcats scored in the 10
th to make the game 6-5.
Next up, the Royals face the Cougars from Spring Arbor University again tomorrow at 6:00 p.m.
