LAKE WALES, Fla. – The Royals fell to one of the NAIA nations best (7) Faulkner University in the final round of the Montgomery "B" Bracket after advancing past Tennessee Wesleyan ending their 2020-21 season.
The Bulldogs of Tennessee Wesleyan abused the three-point shot hitting 16-29 from range and ultimately overpowering the Royals. Warner shot a good 44% from the field and had three players finish with double digits in the point column.
The Sun Conference Player of the Year
Rod Boggan led the way for the Royals finishing the game with 22 points, 4 rebounds and 2 steals. The Sun Conference Freshman of the Year ended the night with 14 points, 8 rebounds 1 block and 1 steal.
Josh Glesil stepped in big and finished the game with 13 points hitting 5-7 form the field and hauling in 6 boards and providing a block.
The Royals fell to the Bulldogs 73-106. It's the first time the two schools have met on the basketball court in hoops history.
(RV) Warner University finishes their season 19-7 overall and yet another NAIA National Championship Opening Round appearance.
Though the season is officially over, the Royals finished highly successful and with some very good accomplishments. Head coach
Sean Hanrahan was named The Sun Conference (TSC) Coach of the Year.
Rod Boggan was named TSC Player of the Year and finishes the season with 410 points averaging 17.1 points per game.
Logan West was named TSC Freshman of the year and finished his first season as a Royal with 327 points, 26 blocks, 167 rebounds and 33 steals. TSC First Team All-Conference selection
Darryl Mercer Jr. collapse the 1000-point mark during his junior season. He finished the year with 387 points and now has a three-year mark of 1172 points.
