(RV) Warner Softball – Royals Drop Game 5 of the TSC Tournament Against USCB

CLERMONT, Fla. – Warner losses to the Sand Sharks to be eliminated from the Sun Conference tournament. 
 
These two teams have faced each other twice in the regular season in Bluffton, South Carolina. 
 
Royals got off to a great start in the top of the 1st and capitalized on an error by the Sand Sharks shortstop, Alison Yawn scored to put one run on the board. In the top of the 4th, Madison Ioia singled down the left line registered 2 RBIs scoring Ashton Owen and Breyonna Shell to improve the game to 3-0. Kelly Dwyer singled to the shortstop listed an RBI scoring Ioia to advance the game to 4-0 Royals up. 
 
The Sand Sharks scored 1 run in the 6th inning and walked off in the 7th inning with a score of 5-4. Tiffany Dodson started the game for Warner, she pitched 6 innings. Arianna Arroyo went in relief for Dodson, she took the loss to move her record 4-4. 
 
The Royals ended their season 30-18 overall and 14-10 in the Sun Conference. 
 
Senior outfielder, Alison Yawn ended with 163 at-bats with a .380 batting average and .429 slugging percentage. Yawn recorded 19 RBIs, 19 walks, and 17 stolen bases out of 21 attempts. 
 
Senior catcher, Sara Bruno ended with 131 at-bats with a .313 batting average and a .427 slugging percentage. Bruno registered 28 RBIs, 2 home runs, and 21 runs. 
 
Junior third baseman, Jennifer Bryant ended with 130 at-bats with a .308 batting average and .408 slugging percentage. Bryant is ranked No. 11 in the NAIA in Assist per game (2.609) and No. 13 in Total Assists (120). She recorded 20 RBIs, 52 putouts, 120 assists, and a fielding percentage of .966. 
 
Junior pitcher, Tiffany Dodson ended with a 1.92 era pitching 218.2 innings. Dodson is ranked No. 3 in the NAIA in total innings pitched (218.200) and No. 8 in wins (23). She ended with a 23-12 overall record. 
 
Junior catcher, Kelly Dwyer ended with 86 at-bats with a .279 batting average and .372 slugging percentage. 
 
Senior outfielder, Kasey Heslin ended with 123 at-bats with a .236 batting average and .309 slugging percentage. Heslin listed 18 runs, 26 hits, and 7 stolen bases out of 8 attempts. 
 
Freshman shortstop, Madison Ioia ended with 71 at-bats with a .254 batting average and .268 slugging percentage. Ioia registered 15 runs, 18 hits, and 12 RBIs. 
 
Junior Ashton Owen outfielder, ended with 137 at-bats with a .292 batting average and .438 slugging percentage. Owen recorded 31 runs, 40 hits, 23 RBIs, 11 walks, 10 stolen bases out of 10 attempts, and 52 putouts. 
 
Junior Katelyn Richards utility, ended with 127 at-bats with a .339 batting average and .472 slugging percentage. Richards registered 33 runs, 43 hits, 26 RBIs, 2 stolen bases out of 3 attempts, 101 putouts, and 71 assists. 
 
Junior Breyonna Shell utility, ended with 156 at-bats with a .385 batting average and .519 slugging percentage. Shell listed 26 runs, 60 hits, 45 RBIs, 11 walks, 3 stolen bases out of 4 attempts, 278 putouts, and 22 assists.
